AIV is an 18 year old wholesale valve distributor located in North West Houston. Our company is in a growth mode and we are looking to fill the following position.

Purchasing Assistant Job Description: Applicant will report directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Duties include:

1. Purchase material from multiple manufacturers for multiple locations.

2. Interact directly with manufactures regarding pricing, stock availability and future shipments.

3. Review assigned product lines using various forms of compiled data to determine the necessary quantities for stock, min/max and purchase orders.

4. Determine a plan of action for stock outs (items currently out of stock).

5. Gain knowledge of alternate purchasing methods such as Min/Max, EOQ and UP/TO methods.

Experience in Microsoft Excel or equivalent is preferred. Strong computer skills a must. Knowledge of Prophet 21/Commerce Center is helpful, but not required.
